Digital and contactless viewing methods have been around for years. In addition to 360-degree tours and drone and aerial photography of the exterior, the SAM inspection robot has also been around for two years. The 1.70 meter tall machine, which resembles a selfie stick, was developed by Realbotengineering, a Swiss start-up company. SAM is controlled remotely by the prospective buyer via the Internet. Together with the innovative viewing robot, they tour all the rooms of the property.

What makes SAM special?

The principle of the real estate industry service robot (SAM) is the same as for 360-degree viewings. These can be carried out online whenever you want. There is no need for the usual stress of appointments. And the time-consuming tour of viewings. The quality of the selection process for potential candidates is improved. Interested parties quickly realize whether the property is the right one. In addition, the digital tour allows buyers to optimally prepare themselves for the sales meeting with the owner or their appointed estate agent.

The big advantage of SAM: unlike other digital viewing methods, SAM does not require any special software or camera equipment to create a virtual tour. The prospective buyer travels through the property with the robot in real time. Every corner of the property for sale can be examined in detail. The viewing is more transparent. The prospective buyer can see the current condition of the interior. Defects are not hidden. In addition, estate agents, owners and potential buyers are able to communicate with each other via video call using SAM. Unlike 360-degree tours, any questions that arise can be answered during the viewing without the need for an on-site appointment. In turn, owners or estate agents can use targeted questions to determine how solvent and creditworthy a prospective buyer is.

The future of robotics in the real estate industry

The live inspection robot is still a novelty on the market that attracts particularly tech-savvy people. In the future, SAM will establish itself on the market and become more affordable for everyone else. The control software of the service robot in the real estate sector is already partly based on AI (artificial intelligence) technology. In the future, SAM's technology will continue to be developed, fine-tuned and new features added. As a result, the marketing tools for real estate in the digital sector will become increasingly efficient.
